The evolution of Facebook

Sometimes, when I want to pretend like I’m a grizzled, old veteran of the digital era (I’m not), I like to look back and think about the old-school Facebook and how far things have come.  I remember the days when the news feed didn’t exist, when you couldn’t tag friends in any incriminating photos and when there was no such thing as a “Like” button. There was no Farmville, no check-ins, no chat and no moms asking about wall posts.

It was a dark and strange time. I remember it because it wasn’t really that long ago.

Leaving my mark(eting) as an intern

My name is Becca, and I am a junior at the University of Kansas studying Strategic Communications. I just finished my first week of my internship at Plattform Advertising, and I have already learned so much.

I was very nervous on my first day because I was overwhelmed by how many employees there are, and I had no idea who I was going to work with.
As the first day came and went, I quickly realized that it was unnecessary for me to be nervous. I mean, I got free supplies, my own cubicle, and I got to write an article for our magazine. How bad could that be, right?

The PlattForm intern survival guide

After my first couple weeks as an intern at PlattForm Advertising, I can already tell this experience will be anything but predictable. Upon entering the conference room for an intern orientation my first day, I quickly learned that I was in for an interesting summer; I was told we would each be dancing individually for a video that would be sent to all of the employees, that I was allowed to wear jeans every day, and the intern team would be taking on their very own project.
